So I have a strange love of the fifth element. It ranked high among my favorite movies for a long time. It’s kind of losing it luster for me in recent years but i still really love how creative it was. It seemed like every piece was new and unique.The world is artfully crafted and truly adds to every second of the film.I could have done without Chris Tucker. Everybody could have. And the Cg parts are falling flat these days but they are few. At least we see the hot milla jovovich scantily clad for most of the movie. I had a thing for orange dreadlocks for a loooong time.. Never could get anybody to wear them but a nerd can dream. Anywho this girl is pretty awesome… replicating the opera singer in the movie perfectly. Its insane and filled my brain with geek nostalgia juice.

Stephen hawking is afraid of aliens coming to kill us all. This may be his cause for alarm… is this a first place or a last place? I dont know lol.

I feel I should mention that the F-Unicorn is too much of a dick to be hunted down and turned into meat. Your probably sitting their hunting him and bam. Not only has he kicked the butt of your gun into you face but he’s also conviced your boss to demote you and convinced your girlfriend to ” try women for a while”. So Dickish! Anyway Unicorn Meat!

The work of Iain is awesome! it pops, its surreal, its detailed and cartoony and amazing. It has a tinge of “Superjail” style but more refined and and bolder use of line work. Im sure you could stare at it for hours. Im so envious of his control over his line work and sheer patience. Enjoy!

At the SpicyDonut household we can often be heard drunkenly yelling. “Give these people air!” which is a totally random total recall quote. Although im sure most of these have made it into the repertoire from time to time. Incidentally, seen the new trailer for the expendables… looks badass!

We have been passing this around since our friend Matt showed us this video. There’s layers of humor to this. Initially its the game glitch of the goat, but thats just the icing. The  cake is the guys narrating and laughing. So infectious! I love those moments when you truly just lose your mind an laugh your ass off. The game is Call of Juarez, so it might be worth picking up out of a bargain bin someday just for that moment. All hail the mystic powers of ladder goat!

Awesome video showcasing some amazing video/ 3d combo work. I love Donkey Kong on the empire state building. That was genius! I’ve always been interested in learning more about camera tracking and marrying it to 3d animation but I’ve never been quite able to pull it off. I’m sure these kind of projects require some expensive specialized plugins to make it work. Hopefully they’ll post a behind the scenes type thing to see how they did it.
